BOSTON -- LaMarcus Aldridge was a No. 2 overall pick in the NBA draft and is a two-time All-Star who has averaged more than 21 points per game in each of the last four seasons. One of the things hed never done, though, is win a game in Boston. The Portland forward scored 27 points and added 12 rebounds -- his fourth straight double-double -- and the Trail Blazers beat the Celtics 109-96 Friday night for their first victory in Boston since 2004. Nicolas Batum added 18 points for Portland, which won its fifth consecutive game. "I was happy for L.A. and Nic," Blazers coach Terry Stotts said. "You always want to check those arenas off your list." Aldridge was 11 for 18 from the field as the Blazers began a four-game road trip. The first stop was Boston, where they had lost nine straight games -- a streak that included the New Big Three era of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, but also the period before that, when the Celtics dropped into the lottery. "Its nice to win here, but Im more big picture," Aldridge said. "I want to keep winning on the road." Mo Williams scored 18 with eight assists for Portland, Damian Lillard had 17 and Robin Lopez had 10 rebounds. Jared Sullinger, who missed the last game with a bruised knee, had 26 points and eight rebounds off the bench for Boston, which has lost two in a row. Boston had won 13 of the previous 15 meetings against Portland since 2004. The last time the Blazers won in Boston was on March 31, 2004, when Darius Miles led Portland, Ricky Davis was the high scorer for the Celtics, the TD Garden was called the FleetCenter and Batum was a 15-year-old in France. "Its been a long time, like 10 years," Batum said. "Its good for our confidence. Its good to keep winning on the road." Portland led 94-80 early in the fourth quarter before Sullinger and Courtney Lee hit back-to-back 3-pointers to cut the deficit to eight points. Sullinger responded to Williams basket with another 3-pointer to make it a seven-point game with 8:51 to play. The Celtics had two possessions to make it closer, but came away without a point. Thomas Robinson rolled one in off the rim on a feed from Williams to make it 98-89, Dorell Wright hit a 3-pointer to make it a 12-point game and Williams hit a short fallaway jumper to make it 103-89. "Every team has a margin for error and not many teams have a big one," Celtics coach Brad Stevens said. "We cant take plays off; its not going to work out well for us on either end of the floor. Those guys are going to make you pay if you relax. And they did." Boston has allowed 105 or more points in three of its last four games, winning two. But the Blazers outscored them 33-27 in the third quarter to turn a six-point halftime advantage into a double-digit lead. "You cant outscore those guys. Youre going to have to defend them," Stevens said. "We didnt do that very well." The Celtics opened an eight-point lead early in the second quarter, but soon gave up 12-4 and 10-2 runs to fall behind 57-51 at the half. Wesley Matthews had 13 points and Aldridge scored 10 with six rebounds in the first. Sullinger had 10 points off the bench for Boston at the break. The Lakers, who led by as many as 15 points in the first quarter, pushed the lead to 97-86 in the fourth on MarShon Brooks short jumper. Xavier Henry, who had 27 points against the Blazers in December, returned to the Lakers lineup Monday after missing 28 games with a right knee injury, but he was played only sparingly. Coach Mike DAntoni said hed limit Heenrys minutes to start.dddddddddddd Steve Nash ran through drills on the court before the game but sat out of his eighth straight game after a brief return from a nerve root irritation, which causes him back pain. Earlier in the day at shootaround, DAntoni told reporters he was doubtful Nash would return this season. After the game DAntoni said: "Hes not quite there physically. He tried it and couldnt finish a game so theres really no point in pushing the injury further. Hes just trying to get well and then well see." Nash, who made the trip to Portland, was noncommittal: "Well see how I feel next week and if I get a chance to practice." Nash, 40, has played in 10 games for the Lakers this season, averaging 7.6 points and 4.7 assists. Kobe Bryant was also in Portland, but he has not been medically cleared to play after breaking his left knee in December. The Lakers jumped out to a 31-16 lead in the first quarter, capping a 14-2 run with Meeks dunk. Portland struggled with eight turnovers. Portland closed the gap in the second quarter, pulling to within 45-38 on Batums dish to Lopez for the dunk and a free throw. But Bazemores last-break dunk extended the Lakers lead to 56-47 with 3:27 left in the half. The Lakers led 63-56 at the half. Los Angeles wouldnt let the Blazers get closer than four points and Gasols dunk extended the lead to 82-73 with 2:36 left. Dorell Wright hit two consecutive 3-pointers for Portland to close within 82-79, but Bazemore answered with a 3 for the Lakers. Blazers coach Terry Stotts said he didnt believe his team overlooked the Lakers. "I think its a credit to the Lakers. They sustained their style of play from the very beginning," Stotts said. "They got out in transition, they were aggressive in passing lanes, they forced eight turnovers in the first quarter. They got us on our heels right away.
